Description
~ The Conservation Alliance for Seafood Solutions serves as a strategic catalyst for the sustainable seafood sector by connecting over 40 leading conservation groups from North America, South America, Europe, Japan, and beyond. We work with leading businesses throughout the supply chain, from fishers and fish farmers, to importers, suppliers, retailers and foodservice companies. ~
Guided by the Alliance Board, we work together to tackle challenges that are too big for any one organization or business to solve alone. By sharing expertise and co-developing tools, we help businesses advance ambitious sustainable seafood commitments and assist fisheries and aquaculture farms to make improvements. The Conservation Alliance works towards transformational change by:
- Aligning our work. The Alliance facilitates alignment around priority elements within our Theory of Change to ensure that the individual efforts of our organizations add up to the greatest possible impact. We set ambitious targets and hold ourselves accountable with shared measurement approaches to track our progress and improve our work.
- Developing and fostering initiatives and products to accelerate progress. Designed to increase efficiency, remove barriers, and accelerate impact across the sector, these initiatives and products can be implemented by diverse partners.
- Serving as a global hub of support. We serve as a center for information-sharing, networking, and relationship-building so that all players working to improve seafood supply chains can connect, strengthen our capacity, and effectively leverage our individual and shared tools, approaches, and experience.
After an extensive process led by the Alliance Board, the Conservation Alliance now has a new strategic plan that lays out an ambitious plan, and corresponding strategies, that will enable the Alliance to catalyze collaboration and measurable progress in global fisheries, aquaculture, and production of seafood.
