Description

General

The work consists of providing environmental services to assist in the development and coordination for environmental planning activities.

Scope of Work

Under the direct supervision of the Arizona Department of Transportation's Environmental Planning Group, the Danelowitz and Associates, Inc.'s (D&A) employee will provide environmental assistance to staff members. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: provide environmental project management in the development and coordination of categorical exclusions, environmental assessments and environmental impact statements according to the National Environmental Policy Act and 23 CFR, Part 771. Coordinate all aspects associated with the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act and State Historic Preservation Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, Civil Rights Act-Title VI, environmental justice, noxious weeds, and other federal and state environmental laws and regulations that could apply in the development of environmental reports. Coordinate environmental activities with the various federal and state regulatory agencies and land managing agencies. Coordination would be for actions such as section 7 & 10 consultation of the Endangered Species Act; 401, 402, and 404 permit applications under the Clean Water Act and all other environmental activities required in the development of environmental reports. Coordinate and present environmental findings to the public at public information meetings and public hearings. Provide support to the state legislature and the governor's office as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have an undergraduate degree related to environmental sciences, or demonstrated environmental experience and at least two years work experience.

Compensation

Salary is $43,680 annually, plus benefits.
