Position Overview

The Environmental and Sustainability Specialist provides a broad spectrum of support for environmental compliance and sustainability programs.

Responsibilities

• Support Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) operations, including site visits and field oversight.
• Support pollution prevention (P2) initiatives.
• Perform as a researcher capable of interpreting federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including pertinent agency guidance documents and orders.
• Provide communications support, including technical writing or editing, press releases, infographics, and slick sheets on environmental compliance and sustainability topics.
• Show initiative in problem solving and work independently as well as in a team environment while managing multiple projects with quick turnaround times.
• Manage projects, including timelines and budget analysis. Develop and manage client relationships.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in the environmental compliance and sustainability fields
  Experience with RCRA compliance and hazardous waste management
• Experience with project management and client delivery
• Experience with producing communications materials, including infographics
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and executive orders, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), RCRA, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA), EPAct, and EO 13834
• Ability to work independently and on teams
• Ability to work core hours at a Booz Allen facility or on client site within the San Francisco Bay area
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with designing infographics and reports using professional design software, including Adobe InDesign
• Experience with federal agencies’ environmental compliance and sustainability programs
• Ability to be versatile, adaptable, and flexible and prioritize within and across multiple assignments
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
• Possession of excellent analytical skills
• Public Trust clearance
• MA or MS degree in a related field
• 40 hour HAZWOPER
