Description
The Winnemucca Community Garden (WCG) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is designed to enhance and strengthen community relationships, foster environmental stewardship, educate the community in horticultural principals, natural habitats and nutrition.
The WCG is an organic garden situated on a 2.5-acre allotment of land, donated by the city for these purposes. The garden reaches students of all ages through hands-on gardening, school programs, special events, the master gardening program, and much more. We empower individuals, knit together a stronger community, beautify local areas, and produce clean and nutritious food, while providing valuable recreational and therapeutic opportunities. The garden brings its supporters and participants a sense of self-gratification and accomplishment as the benefits are witnessed every summer and fall at harvest time.
The Education Curriculum Developer will develop a series of curriculum utilizing the physical and material resources offered by WCG. These lessons will be developed for multiple grade-levels with a specific focus on K-8 and the high school's FFA group.

Internship dates are June 3 to August 12.
