Overview

RES is currently accepting applications for Ecological Restoration Solutions Sales Manager for the Sacramento, California office.

The mission: 

RES is the nation’s leading ecological restoration company, with over 300 stream miles restored and conserved, 20,000,000 trees planted, and 15,000 acres of special-status species habitat established. The Credit Sales Manager will drive sales by establishing trusted advisor relationships with clients, aligning current and future supply with qualified demand, understanding the regulatory nexus within which credits can satisfy impact projects, and delivering comprehensive mitigation bank credit solutions to clients.

You will be dealing with a broad spectrum of third-party stakeholders including environmental permitting firms, engineering and design firms, EPC firms, environmental attorneys, regulatory agencies and associated resource agencies, non-governmental conservation groups, chambers of commerce and other economic development entities, client industry associations, etc.

This is a dynamic position perfect for a Sales/Customer Service personality mixed with an understanding of the environmental regulations that affect Credit Buyers.

Occasional travel to RES regional or corporate offices is to be expected (up to 10%), while visiting field/sites or entertainment/recreation events throughout the region. RES is a growing firm with a diverse staff of talent that makes for an exciting place to work, learn, and grow your career!

What your day-to-day might look like?:

  • Your day kicks off with taking ownership of client relationships. You'll be prospecting, identifying, and prioritizing their solution needs. Engaging with clients and understanding their requirements is key to building trust.
  • You will be the go-to person for tracking credit inventory, developing proposals, and handling contracting intricacies like quotes, letters of availability, credit ledgers, and regulatory updates. Your hands-on approach ensures a seamless process from inception to invoicing.
  • Managing the credit sales pipeline will be a significant part of your role. You'll use our CRM software to build and maintain the pipeline, converting potential deals into tangible bookings. Collaboration with the Marketing team is crucial to developing tailored collateral and campaigns for specific markets and assets.
  • Reporting directly to the Regional Client Solutions Manager, you will play a central role in organizing all credit sales-related materials. From trackers and emails to client contacts and CRM software contracts, your meticulous approach ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
  • While this role is primarily non-field, you'll find yourself immersed in communication. Whether over the phone, in-person meetings, or email exchanges, you'll be in constant contact with clients, co-workers, regulatory agencies, and more. It's a dynamic role that keeps you at the forefront of client engagement and solution delivery.

Qualifications

We’d like to talk with you if you have many of the following:

  • BS/BA
  • 5 or more years of sales or other applicable professional experience
  • Working knowledge of the mitigation banking practice within the state of California
  • An understanding of the regulatory nexus as it pertains to the Credit Buyer

What will make you stand out?

  • Masters or other advanced degree
  • Direct working experience with RES client base and/or third-party stakeholders detailed herein (public and private sector infrastructure developers)
  • Client-focused, performance-driven, complex solution sales experience and/or ecological restoration and mitigation experience

Compensation

  • Pay range: $66,000 - $99,000 base pay, plus bonus.
