Responsibilities

The Director of Sustainability and Resilience, Supply Chain position is a full time role that works from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and handles the following responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of an organization's sustainability programs.
  • Leads research and analysis used to develop corporate sustainability strategies to ensure that business practices, products, and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with government rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates with other leaders to implement processes and technologies that reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
  • Promotes and explains the organization's sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • May give input into developing the budget.
  • Manages both strategic priorities as well as the tactical execution of the sustainability agenda.

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability Business, Ecology or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of sustainability industry trends/technology with prior sustainability experience in a large organization.
  • Knowledge of national sustainability standards such as LEED, EPEAT, furniture and furnishings that avoid target chemicals of concern, and third-party certified green cleaning chemicals.
  • Superior skills in Excel and Word and excellent communication skills. 
  • Masters preferred.
