Position Overview
Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, with 30 boutique retail locations across 6 States and a robust eCommerce platform is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology. Primary functions are overseeing the operation of the IT team and ensuring it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. This individual's principal goals are to maintain and manage applications and maintain critical operational support for all IT systems.
The Director of IT will be responsible for the planning, coordination, direction, and design of operational activities within the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance company-wide functionality. The Director of IT will work closely with other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Additional responsibilities will include managing and/or supporting relationships with appropriate third party vendors.to configure, deploy and administer network services and network applications, including servers and clients as assigned in all locations. Responsible for support of hardware, OS, security, storage, printing, backups, performance, availability, service, resource utilization and assisting with budget planning to meet overall business needs and objectives of the company. This position reports directly out of our dog friendly home office in beautiful Boulder, CO.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy for effectively supporting and continually improving application frameworks and interfaces.
- Lead, manage, and support all team members and external consultants on all required aspects of the system design and support lifecycles.
- Ensure quality deliverables by implementing, managing, and ensuring consistent design, development, testing, and deployment practices.
- Collaborate with infrastructure partners to ensure that application frameworks and interfaces are structured and monitored to enable robust proactive support capabilities.
- Provide support, as needed, to ensure that incidents are resolved in a timely manner.
- Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
- Make recommendations for the improvement of the IT systems. Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to executive team, business leads, support staff.
Qualifications
- Must be a strategic thinker that understands IT best practices and is capable of developing and implementing a strategic plan that advances the team in line with organizational goals.

- Must be a sincere, collaborative team leader who, when needed, places the overall success of the organization and team ahead of their own professional priorities.
- Proficient in SQL and database design and management.
- Knowledgeable in normalized database concepts and in data integration mapping, development, and support.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, including HIPPA
Desired Skills:
- Experience in any of the following areas is a plus: retailing, supply chain planning, wholesale or retail merchandising.
- Demonstrated knowledge in software upgrades and implementations, database management systems and systems integration in multi-platform environments.
- Experience overseeing IT in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and support of software applications.
- Manage staffing, staff planning, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development and evaluation.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
- Ability to define service delivery KPIs and implement capabilities to provide ongoing success and performance metrics.
- Experience with Microsoft Dymanics GP.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology, math or equivalent.
- A combination of 8-10 years of experience in relevant industry business practices, IT consulting, and/or technical consulting; retail sector is most desired.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IT leadership role responsible for both business systems support (per SLA’s) and the successful delivery and deployment of IT technology based capabilities.
- Strong functional knowledge of business processes, any experience working in a retail environment is a plus.
- Strong business/ financial acumen and ability to understand and logically work through business problems to proper resolution.
- IT Management experience including leading a team of direct reports.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
