Position Overview:
The Director of Environmental Planning will work with a team of Environmental Planners and Scientists to perform environmental studies and compliance activities for a wide range of assignments including large, complex transportation projects.
A thorough knowledge of the NEPA process and associated rules and regulations is essential.
This position will be responsible for the growth and overall fiscal and administrative management of the Environmental Planning Department for the Atlanta office; Preparing and/or supervising the preparation of environmental documents; including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and other technical reports as needed to assess impacts.
Managing Environmental Services to include preparing/reviewing scope and fees and proposals, managing budgets, work schedules and project staffing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an Environmental field of study (Environmental Science, Forestry, Forest Hydrology, Biology, Ecology, Geology, or related field)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience - with at least 5 years of NEPA planning experience.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in the Natural Sciences.
