Postion Overview

JLL is seeking candidates to fill the positon of Director, Energy and Sustainability, which is the leader of the Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) team.

Travel (up to 25%) is required and may include periodic travel to client properties. Preferred location is Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL.  

Responsibilities  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Oversee on-going reporting processes (e.g. Monthly/Quarterly Reports)
  • Interacts with JLL Finance/Accounting to manage ESS financial operations/reporting
  • Monitor personnel systems and assure ESS compliance with policies and programs (e.g. IPMP)
  • Manage ESS related budgeting/forecasting/procurement processes
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in energy or sustainability areas for client interaction, industry events, JLL meetings and public relations efforts
  • Continually manage and improve ESS policies, procedures, systems, etc...
  • Development of a Strategic ESS Business Plan with actions and timelines
  • Establish clear and achievable goals for all ESS programs and initiatives
  • Oversee energy benchmarking and assessments of all client facilities
  • Oversee LEED certification process for all client facilities
  • Routine reporting of performance Metrics to management
  • Develop portfolio-wide training and communication of ESS activities
  • Communicate with the Facility Management and Project Management teams to develop, plan, and execute energy and sustainability capital and expense investments
  • Develop and evaluate financial viability of Sustainability and Energy projects within the portfolio. Financial analysis shall include an ROI analysis for energy, maintenance and property value enhancements resulting from developed projects. Candidate will prioritize the investments and make recommendations to proceed with the developed projects
  • Train and support Facility Management, Project Management, and Engineering Team 

Qualifications  

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Facility Management or related field)
  • Minimum of 5 years managing energy and/or facility management services
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
  • Certified Energy Manager and\or LEED AP preferred (or equivalent)
  • Experience communicating with and presenting information to all levels of management
  • Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethic.
  • Demonstrated experience in training
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Computer proficiency using spreadsheets and processing applications
  • Demonstrate leadership/management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
