Description
New York Working Families was formed in 1998 by a coalition of labor unions and community activist organizations to fight for economic and social justice.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relational WFP membership database of over 750K records in MS Access.
- Provide database support for WFP endorsement and petitioning processes, fundraising and electoral canvasses, and online organizing using auxiliary databases.
- Perform heavy data processing tasks (e.g. formatting, cleaning, standardizing, merging, and matching) on various non-membership datasets, including voter lists, candidate lists, and non-WFP membership lists.
- Design and customize databases to staff specifications.
- Coordinate vendor data enhancement.
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years database management experience.
- Srong Microsoft Access 2003 & 2007 data processing, database design, and database management skills.
- Some hands-on experience working with political data e.g. voter lists.
- Experience with SQL Server, SAS, Salsa, VAN, and G.I.S. software a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, and commitment to progressive politics a must.
