Position Overview 

USGBC is currently seeking a Credentialing Programs Specialist to work with the Green Business Certification Inc.'s (GBCI's) Credentialing team.

GBCI is the premier certification body responsible for global delivery and quality oversight of green building and green business sustainability standards. Its integrated team of green building specialists administers credentials and certifications for the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED), the International WELL Building Institute (WELL Building Standard), International Finance Corporation (EDGE), PEER,Sustainable SITES, and GRESB.

The Credentialing Programs Specialist supports overall program and business processes requirements to ensure accurate, high quality operations of GBCI credentialing programs. In this role, the specialist will support the management and operations of professional accreditation programs and services, as well as department operations.

The Credentialing Programs Specialist is expected to be process and detail oriented, provide timely and proactive communication, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in their interactions with internal colleagues, as well as external partners, volunteers and customers. 

Responsibilities  

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Manage GBCI Continuing Education (CE) Course Review and Approval process
  • Support LEED for Homes Green Rater and LEED Project Reviewer Certificate Programs including eligibility screening, training education coordination and maintenance and participant reporting and tracking
  • Support Green Classroom Professional Certificate Program including participant status monitoring and support
  • Conduct Credentialing Maintenance Program (CMP) audits for LEED GA, LEED AP and WELL AP
  • Conduct EDGE Auditor eligibility reviews
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment and logistics planning for test development / maintenance activities
  • Participate in exam maintenance tasks for existing products.
  • Assist with development process for new credentials
  • Support translations of GBCI exams and publications
  • Assist with ANSI quality assurance process
  • Support committee and governance activities
  • Provide operations, administrative and business process implementation support for Credentialing Department
  • Other duties and projects as assigned 

Qualifications 

Education & Training Preferences: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Business Management or Environmental Science
  • LEED Green Associate required (or within 3 months of hire)
  • LEED AP with Specialty preferred
  • Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience working in an office environment

Other required skills & qualifications: 

  • Passion for and commitment to USGBC mission
  • Proficiency and experience with MS Office required (advanced Excel skills preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic, detail-oriented and able to prioritize
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work
  • Ability to work well both independently and on teams
  • Ability to work in another language such as Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Arabic or French preferred
  • Successful candidates will be required to sign non-disclosure agreement prior to working on exam development issues
