Position Overview
WSP USA has an immediate opening for a Consultant (Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change) to support the company’s growing Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change offering. Click here for a description of our team and capabilities.
The Consultant will support a client-facing team in the design, implementation, and management of organizational sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and tracking of renewable energy programs, energy project origination, and the administration of renewable energy contracts
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities to achieve energy, GHG, and resource reductions
- Analyzing energy efficiency and renewable energy sourcing options
- Designing sustainability performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement plans
- Developing entity-wide and product life cycle inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste and other resources
- Developing and maintaining sustainability data management systems and business intelligence tools
- Researching leading sustainability programs and initiatives
- Producing sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communications
- Supporting business development activities with existing and prospective clients
Qualifications
Preferred Skills:
- Conversant in renewable energy sourcing options including PPA offtake positions and associated financial modeling
- Ability to develop and present complex analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and use of programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with sustainability issues and frameworks such as CDP, GRI and GHG Protocol
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficiently
- Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms
Education and Training:
- 0-4 years of professional experience
- Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
- Degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline, or experience in sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting preferred
