~ The Lancaster County Conservancy was founded on September 17, 1969 as a 501(c)(3) non-profiot organization to receive funds for procuring real property for present and future generations, to have desirable open space lands preserved for exercise, recreation, and education by the general public. ~
The Conservancy has 2,500+ members serving all of Lancaster County and the mission of the Conservancy is to provide wild and forested lands and clean waterways for our community. Forever.
Position Overview
The Community Relations Specialist (CRS) is responsible for managing all aspects of the Lancaster County Conservancy’s community outreach to include public and private events, volunteerism, and communications that encompass social media, website, email and print platforms.
The CRS will work under the supervision of the Director of Development and collaboratively with the Development and Annual Fund Coordinator as well as other program directors. He or she will ensure that community relations will educate and activate our current constituency, grow our membership and celebrate the success of our mission.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties:
- Position is responsible for the planning and execution of events.
- Works with Conservancy staff, Directors, volunteers, event committees and vendors in the coordination of event planning timeline, assigned tasks, and execution of the event.
- Ensures that event sponsors receive all benefits as specified in sponsorship package.
- Coordinates media platforms for the promotion of events before, during and after.
- Analyzes event success and communicates strengths and weaknesses.
- Position is responsible for the coordination of social media. communication platforms and strengthening Conservancy’s web-based profile.
- Works with CEO and Directors on content and timeline line of communication platform.
- Reports on Google analytics.
- Position assists with the content and publication of newsletters and annual report.
- Manages timelines and vendors.
- Position provides grant writing support to program directors.
- Collaborates on application process and grant management.
- Researches potential foundations for various Conservancy initiatives.
- Position is responsible for tracking event attendance and volunteers in database and reporting on trends of community engagement.
- Completes detailed training on events and volunteerism modules of database.
- Ensures that all information is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Passion for the environment and land conservation.
- Experience in non-profit organizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment especially during event execution.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Extreme attention to details and goal oriented.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
