About the position:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our company through strategic planning, market expansion, and fostering key relationships. You will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, developing and executing growth strategies, and building strong partnerships to achieve our revenue and market share objectives.

Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping our business strategy, driving revenue growth, and positioning us for long-term success in a competitive marketplace.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and refine the company's business development strategies and objectives, as well as, implement a company-wide business development procedure and technological solution. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities, market gaps, and emerging trends. Translate findings into actionable plans and initiatives to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- New Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through targeted prospecting, lead generation, and networking activities (Including travel to conferences and client business meetings). Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients by leveraging various channels such as industry events, referrals, online platforms, and partnerships. Conduct thorough market assessments and evaluate potential clients for strategic fit and alignment with company goals.
- Relationship Building: Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective clients, partners, and industry influencers. Act as a trusted advisor and build rapport to understand their business needs, challenges, and objectives. Effectively communicate the value propositions of our products or services and leverage these relationships to secure new business deals and partnerships.
- Proposal Development and Negotiation: Lead the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to meet client needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proposals align with business capabilities, pricing strategies, and value delivery. Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service agreements to secure profitable and long-term partnerships.
- Market Expansion and Growth Strategies: Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, including new geographic regions, industry verticals, or target segments. Develop and execute market entry strategies, including partnerships, acquisitions, or new product launches. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and achievement of revenue targets.
- Establishing a Sales Pipeline: Provide market insights, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies and approaches. Collaborate on account planning and participate in key sales meetings, presentations, and negotiations to drive successful deal closures.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business development efforts. Regularly analyze and report on sales pipeline, revenue forecasts, market trends, and competitor activities. Provide timely and accurate reports to the executive team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will possess 2 + years of experience in the renewable energy industry (specifically in wind, solar, BESS, and electrical services)
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with a track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate market opportunities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, people, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets and exceeding expectations
- Leadership skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to completion
- Proficiency in using CRM software, market research tools, and sales analytics platforms
- Solid understanding of business principles, market dynamics, and industry trends
Compensation
- Salary: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year, DOE.
