GBS provides green building design and building operation consulting services and technical services, such as commissioning, energy modeling, and building audits. GBS also provides sustainability and green building training services, such as credential maintenance (AIA, IIDA, LEED), workshop facilitation, LEED exam preparation, and GRI G4 sustainability reporting.
Position Overview
GBS is seeking a strategically minded, delivery-focused building commissioning professional located on the West and/or East Coast or Mid-West of the United States. The successful applicant will be based in his/her resident state. Some travel to projects in other states will be required for this position.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant field experience in performing existing building commissioning activities. A secondary requirement is experience performing new building commissioning and building energy audits focused on HVAC and associated controls compliant with ASHRAE Level I and II audit requirements.
Responsibilities
Job Duties Will Include:
- Perform existing building commissioning, often to LEED standards
- Commission new construction or tenant improvement projects, often to LEED standards
- Create Owners Project Requirements
- Collect and analyze field data
- Perform energy usage analysis
- Make energy efficiency recommendations and suggestions for improvements
- Prepare commissioning and audit reports
- Manage assigned projects
- Communicate with project team members for scheduling, document collection and project status purposes
- Assist in preparation of proposals
Qualifications
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Performed existing building commissioning activities
- Performed new building commissioning activities
- Relevant field experience related to performing building energy audits focused on HVAC and associated controls
- Conducted ASHRAE Level I and preferably ASHRAE Level II audits
- LEED AP accreditation is strongly preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong interpersonal, analytic, and organizational skills are required
- Highly professional in the conduct of their work
- Experience in project management strongly preferred
