Backcountry Caretaker/Trail Crew Internship

The Long Trail is America's oldest long distance hiking trail, and forms the Vermont portion of the famous Appalachian Trail.

Backcountry Caretaker and Trail Crew interns live outside in the Vermont mountains helping to care for the Long Trail (a 400 mile system of hiking trails and campsites.)

Duties:
Interns work along side paid staff and learn in a real hands on environment.

Caretakers live at beautiful, fragile sites on the trail and educate hikers about low impact camping.

Trail Crew uses hand tools and old time skills to build stone stairs and wooden bridges.
