S. D. Keppler & Associates (SDK) is an emerging east coast leader in providing voluntary environmental compliance and certification program consulting services based in Rockville Maryland. SDK is currently experiencing significant growth in the delivery of environmental certification facilitation and consulting services, specifically around the LEED Green Building Rating System for new buildings, existing buildings, and institutional facilities.

Employment Opportunity: 

To meet the demand for our current environmental certification clients and opportunities, we are excepting resumes to meet, screen, and identify candidates to fill the following full time position. This associate level position offers an excellent career and growth opportunity in environmental consulting addressing commercial buildings for the right candidate, with potential advancement to the senior associate and senior consultant levels. The right candidate will be offered the position immediately. 

Position Requirements: 

This position will support the Senior Environmental Certification Services Consultants in delivering all current environmental certification and consulting services under contract. Responsibilities will include client interaction and communications, on-site and office project work, compiling LEED certification documentation and calculation performance, web research, and project task tracking.

Successful candidates will have a working knowledge and/or experience in building design and/or construction, or facilities management, or technical energy/environmental program management experience, preferably directly related to energy conservation, indoor air quality management, water resource management, and/or sustainable design and construction practices.

Novice to intermediate level experience or knowledge of the LEED Green Building Rating System, background in detailed technical project work in commercial and institutional buildings is required. The ability to read, understand, and navigate through building plans and specifications is a plus. Excellent Excel and web skills are required. Experience with quantitative energy and water use analysis is a significant plus. Knowledge and/or experience with the EnergyStar label program a plus. Knowledge and/or experience with building energy modeling and energy analysis a plus.
