Position Overview

ecoPartners  is hiring an Associate Analyst to join our start-up team located in Berkeley, California. This position is a temporary, full-time appointment starting in April 2019. Most work will take place in our Berkeley office with the possibility of occasional travel (less than 10%). The position is a six month appointment, with the possibility of becoming permanent at the end of the six month period. Depending on project timelines and capacity needs, ecoPartners may hire two Associate Analysts.

Responsibilities

  • The Analyst will perform spatial analysis tasks on behalf of our clients engaged in forest carbon project development.
  • Work involves analyzing land cover using ArcMap, acquiring historical satellite imagery, compiling data for analysis, documenting work products and assisting with project development.
  • The Analyst will primarily support the development of several domestic and international forest projects.
  • It is likely that the Associate Analyst will also play a key role in the development of groundbreaking technology to trace deforestation-free supply chains as a part of a global initiative to improve the environmental performance of forest conservation.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Hold an associate or undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in GIS, natural resources, forestry or environmental studies.
  • Have good communication skills, including oral and written.
  • Have good time‐management and self‐management skills, and are able to take direction and work independently to reach identified goals on a set timeline.
  • Are able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive project deliverables.
  • Have a commitment to solving the environmental challenges of our time.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally to remote places.
