Description

ecoPartners, a global leader in ecosystem project development, works with landowners and project developers to build successful forest carbon offset projects. ecoPartners specializes in the technical aspects of project design, planning and development: remote sensing, biometrics and accounting methodologies. ~

ecoPartners is working with numerous landowners to implement sustainable forest management practices and to monetize the resulting value of sequestering carbon.

We are actively developing projects in Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Panama and Ecuador. We have served as technical consultant for about half of all validated and verified REDD projects to date, accounting for over 12 million tons of verified carbon reductions on 1.7 million hectares worldwide.

Position Overview

ecoPartners is hiring an Associate Analyst to join our start-up team located in Berkeley, California. The Analyst will perform spatial analysis tasks on behalf of our clients engaged in forest carbon project development. Work involves analyzing land cover using ArcMap, acquiring historical satellite imagery, compiling data for analysis, documenting work products and assisting with project development.

  • The Associate Analyst will primarily support the development of several domestic and international forest projects.
  • It is likely that the Associate Analyst will also play a key role in the development of ground-breaking technology to trace deforestation-free supply chains as a part of a global initiative to improve the environmental performance of forest conservation.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Are able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive project deliverables.
  • Have a commitment to solving the environmental challenges of our time.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally to remote places.

Benefits

  • Practical experience in the rapidly growing sector of carbon credits for ecosystem services.
  • Abundant technical resources (software and hardware) at the cutting edge of forest biometrics and carbon valuation.
  • A flexible, open work environment at a start-up.
  • A proven commitment to mentoring early-career employees.
  • Networking and long‐term employment opportunities.
  • Use of company resources and laptops for mobile office.
  • Monthly commuter benefit.
