Description

~ Prime Environment is a small, family-owned Environmental Consultancy with an office in Cambridge and Derby. We provide ecological consultancy to the renewable energy, education, housing, health care and historic buildings sectors. We also provide arboriculture services to some of our clients. ~

About the Role:

To support our projects over the summer, we are looking to recruit at least one Seasonal Ecologist. At the moment this will be on a casual basis, but potentially extending into a full time role. The ideal candidate will have previous experience (one full season or more) working for an ecology consultancy, undertaking a range of field surveys, but we will consider candidates with no previous experience.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • A basic knowledge of British flora and fauna
  • An interest in nature conservation
  • Experience of relevant survey techniques (e.g. bat surveys, badger bait marking, great crested newt surveys)
  • Experience working as a clerk of works highly desirable
  • BSc. or higher in related subject
  • Full UK Driving License (with own car)

Additionally:

  • Candidates must be positive, assertive and personable and driven. You will be able to present yourself well to others. You will be able to work to deadlines, follow instructions and apply common sense.
  • Your role will be principally field based (lone working and with colleagues), with some element of helping collate reports, data searches and research, general office duties and care of equipment.
