Description
Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, a long-established and well-respected non-profit conservation organization, is seeking a committed and talented conservation professional to fill the new position of Allegheny Forestlands Project Director.
This position will lead and manage a large, complex conservation project in northern PA's forests. Successful outcomes will hinge on building and sustaining productive relationships within the forest industry, with community leaders, individual landowners and public/private agencies and organizations to protect the forest landscape and the natural features within.
A master's degree in natural resource management or similar, with an emphasis in forestry, conservation planning and/or conservation biology, with several years additional work experience is required. Demonstrated knowledge of conservation planning, conservation biology principles, natural resource management, forest conservation, ecological restoration, and watershed protection is required. The successful candidate will be an articulate, passionate and persuasive communicator who is able to make alliances and gain support from a variety of stakeholders. Must be able to raise program funds from both private and public sources. Position will be based in a strategic location in northern PA.
