Overview

ERG is seeking versatile entry level environmental scientists and engineers to work on a variety of projects in our Morrisville (Research Triangle Park), NC office. Successful candidates will work in teams to support projects related to the following:

  • Researching and writing about scientific and technical topics;
  • Analyzing data related to emissions and industrial processes;
  • Support for EPA and state air quality and greenhouse gas regulatory initiatives;
  • Determining technical feasibility, costs, and environmental impacts of emissions control equipment and strategies to reduce air and climate emissions; and
  • Providing technical and outreach support related to the development of federal air emissions regulations for a wide range of industries.

Job Qualifications

Candidates for employment must have:

  • A bachelors or master's degree in, environmental science, environmental management, atmospheric sciences, environmental engineering, chemical engineering or comparable technical discipline;
  • 0-5 years of experience; and
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required).

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong spreadsheet and database skills (e.g., Microsoft® Excel®, Access®);
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • The ability to work well in teams and to meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment;
  • A commitment to provide quality services; and
  • Knowledge or interest in air pollution or climate change policies and regulations.

We welcome candidates with 0-5 years of professional experience (graduate degree may count toward professional experience), and compensation will correspond to experience.

Core job functions can be performed remotely, particularly during continued COVID restrictions. We do have a preference for candidates to eventually move to the Morrisville, NC, office, and being physically located in the office will be beneficial to certain job functions in the long run.
