Position Overview
Locus Energy is looking for a talented engineer to join our Technical Account Management team. If you find the idea of integrating data from new solar generation equipment into a system that processes millions of transactions a day exciting, we are looking for you.
Responsibilities
A Typical Day in the Life of an Applications Engineer will include:
- Evaluating, designing and managing project installations.
- Contributing to the design and architectural requirements for Solar PV SCADA Network and Infrastructure.
- Configuring DAS devices, computers and network equipment for deployment.
- Coordinating with sales reps to review quotes for commercial PV monitoring solutions.
- Working with customer and internal field support resources to coordinate on-site commissioning and install support.
- Providing training and customer set-up on the Locus platform.
- Other support activities as required.
Qualifications
This job might be for you if:
- You have a solid foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals including control systems, power electronics theory and three phase power.
- You have a good understanding of IT systems, Networking, VPN, serial communications and applying such is strongly preferred.
- You have a knowledge and understanding of SCADA systems.
- You have an understanding of industrial automation protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC, DNP3.0)
- You possess the experience and ability to configure/deploy embedded controllers and/or PLCs.
- You have experience with SEL Real Time Automation and Control (RTAC).
- You have 1-2 yrs. experience in commissioning and supporting commercial solar PV systems, specifically in data acquisition/software applications.
- You have a knowledge of RS-485 and TCP/IP networking a plus.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills.
- You have an ability to understand and explain technical specifications and details.
- You have an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and within a small team.
- You have experience with Microsoft Office, CRM and CAD applications.
- You have an understanding power system diagrams and schematics.
