Position Overview

Sigora Solar is seeking a Residential PV Designer Manager to join our engineering and design department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Residential Designer to ensure quality of all designs meet standards.
  • Manage outsourced design partners and provide quality control of their designs.
  • Draft One Line diagrams, structural diagrams and site plans using AutoCAD, Aurora, Helioscope.
  • Research, document and comply with local and national electrical code requirements per individual Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Review of all electrical connections for accuracy.
  • Obtain roof structure certification letters and/or any other PE sealed plans required.
  • Revise drawings because of client or AHJ request.
  • Populate Bill of Materials.
  • Monitor and track progress on all projects. Communicate with team members and other departments/entities regarding project status.
  • Assist with Residential Design Verification.
  • Assist Sales Team and Project Managers with the response to RFPs, RFIs, bids, and other project proposal documents as needed.
  • Perform various tasks to assist with commercial projects as needed.
  • Create feedback loop process to continue to import department performance and analyze real job issues.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of Residential Solar Design Experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, an earth sciences discipline (biology, chemistry, geology, natural resources, etc.), related scientific degree, or design.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in computer aided design applications including AutoCAD, Helioscope, Aurora. Experience with Google Earth and ArcGIS is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills; high level of proficiency working in Excel spreadsheets. Adobe and data management systems.
  • Creativity is Key. We need someone that has an eye for design and can think outside of the box.
  • Having an open mind is also an absolute must. With the rate of evolution in the solar industry, our methods are constantly progressing to stay ahead of the curve, and we need someone that is hungry for a dynamic work environment.
  • Understanding of the National Electric Code, in particular Article 690, is required. It is necessary to carry out job responsibilities.
