Position Overview

CEC is seeking a highly motivated renewable energy analyst to assist the Director of Finance with financial review and analysis for the company. This position is for someone with finance experience, has the desire to learn and grow, and is passionate about renewable energy.

The analyst will support all aspects of financial modeling for solar projects, as well as corporate level forecasting, financial reporting, transactional due diligence, and business analytics. The analyst will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced solar industry professionals in all facets (including development, construction, operations, legal and finance, among others), be involved in key discussions and decision-making with CEC’s executive management team, as well as enhance financial analysis and other skills.

Reports to: Director of Finance

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain accurate financial models at both the project and corporate levels.
  • Collaborate with company departments to gather and analyze data and information.
  • Present information and analysis to various teams in a clear and concise manner.
  • Report weekly on project status, capital spend, cash flows, among other items.
  • Assist the team with financial reporting as required for the company.
  • Run budget to actual variances for project and corporate costs and cash flows.
  • Compile and track information for project transactions and associated data rooms.
  • Assist in the evaluation of company performance through analysis and critical thinking.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks and analysis as necessary to best support the company.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree with an emphasis in finance.
  • 2+ years of finance experience (investment banking, project finance, or business analytics experience is a plus).
  • Proficient with Excel and analysis.
  • Extremely high attention to detail.
  • Strong aptitude to learn complex concepts (tax, energy policy, financial structures, etc.).
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
  • Organized, diligent, and able to track and manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis – with both speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player.

  • Base Salary – dependent on experience and skills.
