Position Overview

Clearway Energy Group is currently seeking a PV Solar Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce safe work practices as they relate to PV Solar plants and PV Solar BOP repairs and maintenance.
  • First line supervisor responsible for technicians.
  • Manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the PV industry, with an emphasis on safety, planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Monitor and report on manufacture and third party maintenance and repair efforts.
  • Supervise/conduct/assist in trouble shooting and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Monitors and manages the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, equipment, tools, and reordering as necessary.
  • Inspect completed repairs and scheduled maintenance for quality assurance.
  • Primary responsibility for responsible sites availability, meeting contractual obligations, and budget.
  • Communicates regularly with Management and all site personnel, both individually and as a group, to ensure excellent two-way communication concerning operational and maintenance issues.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with sub-contractors and other vendors for parts and services required.
  • Responsible for manuals, updates, and work instructions for site personnel and PV systems.
  • Work with team members to establish goals, action plans and strategies.
  • Develop standard work procedures.
  • Assists in the hiring of site maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the site maintenance personnel.

Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of PV Solar Systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain PV solar sites at high availability.
  • Technical School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 4 year degree in related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software to include spread sheet and document applications.
  • Experience working with plant systems and computerized maintenance management systems. (SAP)

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas.
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
  • Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
  • May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
  • Work overtime and non-standard working hours – (nights) as required.
  • Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.
  • Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
  • Able to travel as required.
  • Able to work safely in a confined space.
  • Able to meet requirements of NRG’s Qualified Electrical Worker program.
