One part-time Orchard intern position: from mid-September to mid-November (weekends Friday-Sunday)
The Women's Environmental Institute is now officially accepting applications for four full-time farm intern positions and one short term orchard intern for the 2008 season. Full-time farm internship includes a supportive intern stipend, room and board, and an educational program on organic farming. On-site residency is required. Internships start and end dates are somewhat flexible but generally two interns positions will begin in March and go until the end of October and two intern positions will start in May go until the end of August.
We have one long-term position for a more advanced farm intern or for someone who has had previous organic farming experience and would like to be trained more intensively in farm management. The Orchard intern will work exclusively on weekends (including Friday) from mid-September through mid-November.
Please contact us about various options. Applicants who have a strong commitment to organic farming and to the environmental and agricultural justice mission of WEI are preferred. Some experience working on an organic farm or a strong ambition and dedication to learning how to farm are preferred.
