Position Overview
Aerotek is currently accepting applications from eligible candidates for the position Environmental Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Transporting and disposing of biological and chemical waste mainly from pharmaceutical laboratories in the Greater Chicago area
- Ensuring environmental compliance to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Work directly with clients and other professionals in the field to coordinate transportation of hazardous material
- Take inventory of the containers
- Print labels off and assign to containers appropriately
- Package containers if necessary
- Utilize laptop to look up different chemicals in their field system database to ensure proper packing
- Assist in the loading/unloading of hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing equipment such as drum dollies, forklift, etc.
Qualifications
- At least a High School Diploma/GED or an associates/bachelors degree in chemistry or a related science
- Environmental or chemical background
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER certified
- Valid drivers license
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office for any documentation
- Ability to work independently and reliably
