SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, multi-disciplinary environmental Environmental Project Manager to successfully drive our projects throughout all phases from early planning and permitting through construction. You must have experience in California and this position will report to our Half Moon Bay, CA office.
The Environmental Project Manager will have experience in environmental permitting, CEQA/NEPA, and facility siting and constraints studies for energy, land development, and infrastructure projects. Experience in specialty areas including electric and gas transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and utilities is highly sought after. Skills include the ability to manage mid-size projects and milestones within schedule and budget expectations, multidisciplinary staff and team members in multiple office locations, and oversight of field data collection, planning, permitting, and report-writing to support the all stages of the project approval process and environmental compliance during construction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in biology, environmental science, natural resource management, archaeology, anthropology, geology or other related field required
- A minimum of five (5) years combined experience in project management, environmental consulting, or ecological, archaeological or geographical studies required
- At least three (3) years of project management experience where management of schedule and budget was required
- A working knowledge of federal and California state laws and regulations (e.g., CEQA, NEPA, California Coastal Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act) related to development and natural and cultural resource protection in California
- Project experience with California public utilities, including Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, and San Diego Gas and Electric Company is preferred
- Experience and ability to manage multiple mid-size projects, in diverse settings (urban, rural, etc.) and with changing requirements
- Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team atmosphere
