Founded in 1898, The Connecticut Audubon Society operates nature facilities in Fairfield, Milford, Glastonbury and Pomfret, an EcoTravel office in Essex and an Environmental Advocacy program in Hartford.

Connecticut Audubon Society manages 19 wildlife sanctuaries around the state, preserves over 2,600 acres of open space in Connecticut and educates over 200,000 children and adults annually. Working exclusively in the state of Connecticut for over 100 years, Connecticut Audubon is an independent organization, not affiliated with any national or governmental group.

Connecticut Audubon Society's scientists, educators, Citizen Scientists, and volunteers work to preserve birds and their environments in Connecticut. Our work includes sanctuary management, advocacy, environmental education and activities at our Centers, scientific studies, and our Connecticut State of the Birds project.  

Position Overview

The Director of the Center at Glastonbury is a senior management position responsible for the operations, fiscal management, programming, and maintenance of the Center as well as its relationship within the community. The Director is a highly visible, energetic, and organized leader with a demonstrated passion for conservation.

The Director is a member of the Hartford regional community and works in concert with other CAS staff to carry out the mission of the Connecticut Audubon Society. The Director shares our organization’s value in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our boards, staff, and program participants.
