Scotland: Plug Power Hydrogen System Supports Remote Cell Tower

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG), a leading provider of clean, reliable on-site energy, announced its GenCore fuel cell product is installed and is providing backup power to a remote cellular telecommunications tower in Elgin, Scotland. The project is a collaboration with Orange, one of the world's most fastest growing mobile communications companies; FDT Associates, provider of design and construction services for telecommunication sites throughout the UK and Northern Ireland; and BOC Group, one of the largest hydrogen gas suppliers in the world, serving two million customers in more than fifty countries. "This breakthrough means we will be able to extend our network to new areas not presently covered. Quantum Awarded Contract to Develop Fleet of Hydrogen Fueled Vehicles

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc., (Nasdaq: QTWW) announced that California's South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) has approved $2.3 million for Quantum to provide the engineering, design and development of advanced hydrogen fuel systems for a fleet of 30 Toyota Prius Hybrid Electric Vehicles. The value of the contract may be expanded to $2.5 million, contingent on co- funding by the Department of Defense National Automotive Center (DoD-NAC), which would increase the total number of vehicles to 35. Quantum will develop the complete OEM-level hydrogen internal combustion engine fuel system, including both the injection system and hydrogen storage system. Included in the fuel systems will be the company's patented fuel injectors, fuel rails, electronic control system and software, hydrogen storage and a customized turbocharger. Quantum will also integrate these hydrogen fuel systems into the vehicles and perform complete validation including crash testing, engine and vehicle durability, and emissions testing to ensure compliance.
