German solar manufacturer Phonix SonnenStrom AG (ISIN DE000A0BVU93) announced it made up for a weak first half year with its third quarter performance. Revenues were Euro 28.6 million, an increase of over 30% from the previous year. EBIT stands Euro 1.49 million, exceeding the same quarter 2005 by almost 25%. EBIT margins were 5.2%, considerably higher than 0.7% in the preceding quarter, but still slightly lower than the previous year 5.4%). Sales in its Power Plant division soared 360% in the third quarter compared to Q3 2005. Several major projects were completed – sales revenues came to Euro 14.2 million as compared with Euro 3.1 million Q3 2005. Sales declined by 16% in the Components & Systems division, from Euro 18.8 million to Euro 14.4 million. For the first nine months of 2006, revenues totalled Euro 65.3 million, virtually unchanged from the previous year. SatCon Technology Corp.(Nasdaq CM: SATC), developer and manufacturer of power electronic products for the alternative energy markets, announced its operating results for the nine months through September 30, 2006. Revenue decreased by 10% to $2.6 million. The company attributes the decrease to its exit of non-strategic product lines. Revenue its Stationary Power Systems division increased by 23%. Operating losses increased to $10.2 million, up from $8.3 million in 2005, as a result of lower revenue combined with increased investment spending of approximately $1.1 million in its core businesses, including renewable energy. Orders on hand are at an all-time high of $32 million, including $16 million for the Stationary Power Systems division.
