Recently, we wrote about new shapes for solar farms, and now there’s one uniquely at Disney World in Florida.
It’s shaped like Mickey Mouse, of course.
At 5 megwatts, it covers 22 acres, and is small, powering just several hotels and a resort. Disney is buying the electricity from Duke Energy, which owns the farm, built on Disney’s land.
Another project to lower emissions is converting Disney’s bus fleet to R50 – a mix of 50% vegetable oil biofuels with conventional diesel.
Disney’s goal is reduce emissions by 50% by 2020 from 2012 levels.
