China’s ENN Group intends to invest $8 billion in clean energy projects in the US over the next decade, according to the China Securities Journal.
"Sino-U.S. cooperation in energy projects is gaining pace, and there will be more investment from Chinese companies in the United States if the United States is more open in its investment policy," says ENN Group Chairman of the Board, Wang Yusuo in the article.
In July, ENN subsidiary ENN Mojave Energy, announced plans to build the Mohave Green Center – a 720 megawatt (MW) solar plant and thin-film solar manufacturing facility in southern Nevada. Those two projects alone could account for $4-$6 billion in investment.
The company is currently negotiating with the Clark County Board of Commissioners on leasing 22-square kilometers of public land for the project. ENN wants to build a 93,000-square-meter factory with six production lines capable of producing 5.4 million thin-film solar panels a year.
If approved, the adjoining solar plant would be built in two 360 MW phases.
