Li-ion Motors Corp (OTCBB: LMCO), winner of the 2010 X-Prize for its all electric, high speed, long range automotive propulsion systems, is showcases the Inizio in New York City as part of an Earth Day exhibit.
The company says the Inizio is the world’s fastest 100% electric supercar, capable of 170 MPH with acceleration from 0-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds.
It has a 114 inch wheel-base and a 78 inch wide footprint with a 600 kw motor, equivalent to about 800 hp.
In addition to the Inizio, the WAVE II, a two seater electric commuter car with an impressive 202.5 MPGe, as determined by DOE’s Argonne National Lab, is also on display.
Earth Day in Times Square features an exhibit dedicated to green businesses, sponsors, and speakers promoting environmental awareness. The event includes a CO2 friendly car show on Friday, April 22nd, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Li-ion Motors, based in Mooresville, NC, converts internal combustion cars to all electric for individual and corporate customers as well as government agencies such as NASA.
Along with the production of original vehicles, the company licenses its proprietary Battery Management System and technology to automobile manufactures seeking to advance their electric vehicle offerings.

Besides the speed, the Li-ion Motors Inizio is a beautiful piece of engineering, it has a look and bold colors of Lamborghini, Ferrari.
The WAVE II powered by proprietary battery and has a jaw-dropping 202.5 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent – average of 187 MPGe in competitive track tests, 191 MPGe on a highway run).
