Caesars Entertainment published the first Corporate Responsibility report and carbon reduction goals for the gaming/hospitality/entertainment industry.
The company, formerly Harrah’s Entertainment, has set a goal of reducing absolute emissions 10% by 2013 from a 2007 baseline.
The CR report is the first for Ceasars – and the industry as a whole – it covers the company’s 70,000 employees, 52 resorts, 40,000 hotel rooms, and 1.5 million square feet of convention space.
The resort owner reported it has cut annual water us by 200 million gallons since 2005 and has invested $60 million over the past seven years in energy efficiency projects, resulting in the annual reduction of 153 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Ceasars is a recognized EPA "Climate Leader" and a participant in the Carbon Disclosure Project). The CR report is based on the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) G3 Guidelines-though it is G3 Undeclared.
