Clothing maker H&M plans to debut an environmentally friendly line this spring for women, men and children.
The so-called Conscious Collection will consist of organic cotton and recycled fibers. It hits stores in April.
"It’s not just about organic cotton any more, the possibilities for creating a complete fashion statement with eco smarter materials are huge now. By designing recurring Conscious Collections we have the opportunity to show in a variety of ways what’s possible using more sustainable fabrics," says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Head of design.
The Conscious Collection is a continuous collection that will feature at different times and within different ranges, the company said.
The April line includes t-shirts, blazers, dresses, skirts and jeans. Organic linen will feature prominently, as will polyester made from recycled PET bottles and Tencel, a fabric the company describes as a silky, renewable material produced with minimal environmental impact.
