JouleX Becomes Cisco Energy Management Partner

JouleX, a software company developing energy management solutions, announced that its JouleX Energy Manager (JEM) software has been accepted into the Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) EnergyWise partner program.

JEM enables large enterprises to monitor, analyze and manage all IT systems connected to their internal networks. This includes peripherals (PCs, printers, etc.), other office hardware (routers, switches, etc.) and even production equipment or data centers.

JouleX’s solution integrates transparently into company networks, analyzes current energy usage and energy waste and realizes immediate savings without the need for additional hardware or system changes.

Accepting JouleX into its EnergyWise partner program enables Cisco to offer its customers an energy management solution which is able to visualize and control all network-connected devices.

JouleX and Cisco are also planning to develop additional products for office networks in large enterprises and for data centers. One objective is to use intelligent, load-adaptive networks to improve energy management performance in data centers. Load-adaptive networks combine Cisco’s NetFlow traffic analysis tool and JouleX’s energy optimization solution to achieve dynamic, near real-time identification of which network devices are required at any given moment and which can be temporarily deactivated to save energy.

“The JouleX Energy Manager is intended as an integrated, enterprise-wide energy control panel for large companies. In partnership with Cisco, we are able to offer our customers a unique solution for optimizing energy management. Our customers save money and, at the same time, achieve long-term improvements in energy efficiency,” said Josef Brunner, co-founder of and Chief Architect at JouleX.

JouleX says JEM decreases energy costs by up to 60% while ensuring availability and provides robust reporting that enables compliance with emerging carbon monitoring requirements.

JouleX was founded in 2009 and is privately held with capital investments from Target Partners and TechOperators. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with European offices located in Munich and Kassel, Germany.
