Tetra Tech, AECOM Awarded USAID Projects Worth $187M

Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) and AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM) separately announced multi-million dollar awards to manage U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) projects in Jordan, Afghanistan and Indonesia.

The largest of the three projects is the $119 million Afghanistan Kabul City Initiative (KCI). Tetra Tech will manage the project which aims to help the Kabul municipal government improve its delivery of critical public services.

The USAID KCI project will help city officials improve services to Kabul
citizens in key areas including sanitation, solid waste, streets, and
parks.

Tetra Tech will manage rapid response efforts to improve the delivery of
municipal services; provide technical support and training; and offer
capacity-building assistance to help the Kabul government.

The project also promotes the understanding of the
responsibilities of municipal leaders and encourages citizens to
participate in the decision-making process.

The project has one base year and two option years.

Indonesia Forestry and Climate

Tetra Tech also will manage the  Indonesia Forestry and Climate Support (IFACS) project. The USAID IFACS program seeks to reduce the threats of deforestation and climate change by helping to conserve Indonesia’s tropical forests, wildlife, and ecosystem processes, including carbon sequestration.

The USAID IFACS task order was awarded under Tetra Tech’s Prosperity, Livelihoods, and Conserving Ecosystems (PLACE) indefinite quantity contract. This four-year program is valued at $40 million, with an initial obligation of $13.8 million.

The IFACS program aims to cut in half the rate of Indonesian forest degradation due to illegal logging, over-harvesting, fires, and other forest loss across more than 10 million acres of forested land in targeted areas.

Tetra Tech will provide technical support to help Indonesians improve land and forest resource governance; build local awareness, capacity, and support for a landscape approach to forest management; develop private sector, local enterprise, and market linkages in support of the program goals; and provide overall project management services for the USAID IFACS project.

Water Reuse in Jordan

AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE:ACM – News) has been selected for a $28-million, five-year task order task under the USAID’s Global Architecture Engineering Infrastructure Indefinite Quantity Contract.

AECOM will work with USAID to increase industrial wastewater reuse, reduce energy consumption, improve regulatory enforcement, expand knowledge sharing, and reduce industrial pollution in Amman, Jordan.
