LED Company Unveils First Product Line

Illumitex, Inc. a developer of light emitting diodes (LEDs) yesterday emerged from stealth operations
revealing its first product line, called Aduro.

The Aduro series is a unique approach to LED lighting, which does away with secondary optics and reflectors often used by LED manufacturers to boost and control output. The optics and reflectors are generally needed to allow LEDs to replace incandescent and fluorescent bulbs in standard fixtures.

But Illumitex chose to design a new lighting package to take advantage of LED attributes and enhance photon emissions to create a uniform,
controlled beam angle to increase lumens, the company says.

llumitex’s Aduro LEDs are available in 4-die and 16-die arrays, and the
products are offered in cool, warm and neutral white light with
radiation
patterns of 10, 20 and 30 degree beam half-angles.

"We have reinvented the basic die and package structure to
create the industry’s most optically advanced LED. Our technology
allows us to deliver perfectly uniform light exactly where the customer
wants it,” said Matt Thomas, CEO of
Illumitex.

The Austin, Texas-based company has venture capital backing from New
Enterprise
Associates.
