Siliken To Establish PV Manufacturing in Ontario

The Siliken Group of renewable energy companies announced plans to open a manufacturing plant for photovoltaic (PV) modules in Ontario, Canada, with an initial production capacity of 50 megawatts (MW).

Siliken said the plant could open as early as 4Q10. Siliken designs and produces its own PV manufacturing machinery.

The new plant will join the other Siliken plants that are currently productive in Valencia (Spain) and San Diego (California, USA). It is to absorb the demand for PV equipment created by Ontario’s new feed-in tariff (FIT).

With this operation, the Siliken group will also increase its annual production capacity to 250 MW, created in the production plants in Valencia and San Diego.

Siliken is a group of companies specializing in the manufacture of modules, other PV components and in developing turn-key projects. The company is involved in a vertical integration process, producing PV modules, power inverters, installation structures, electrical security panels, string monitors and other components. In addition, it operates in the wind sector and produces different models of low-power air generators.
