Satcon's Largest Single Order Heading to Czech Republic

Satcon Technology Corporation (NASDAQ CM: SATC), a provider of utility-scale components for the renewable energy market, announced that it will deliver 30.5-megawatts (MW) of its solar photovoltaic (PV) inverters under a supply agreement with ENERGY 21 Group. The inverters will be employed in 15 solar power plants in the Czech Republic.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though Satcon said it was the largest order the company has received to date.

These installations qualify as part of the Czech Republic’s Feed-In Tariff program, which is projected to create over 500 MW of grid-connected PV power plants through 2011. The power stations will be owned by ENERGY 21, which specializes in the construction and operation of large scale solar plants in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. CE Solar, the EPC division of ENERGY 21, expects to complete the solar plants in the first half of the 2010.

In addition to thirty-three of Satcon’s PowerGate Plus 500kW inverters,
the order also included thirteen of the company’s 1-MW PowerGate Plus
CE inverters, four 250kW CE PowerGate Plus inverters, and over six
hundred of its recently introduced smart subcombiners, the Satcon SSC™
solution.

Daniel Kunz, CEO of ENERGY 21 said he believes the utility scale solar market in the Czech Republic is poised
for significant growth in 2010.
