Boston-based Satcon Technology Corporation (NASDAQ CM: SATC) delivered 23 megawatts of solar inverters to GCL Solar Limited for solar installations in China.
The company’s PowerGate(R) Plus 500kW solar PV inverters were used in the 20-MW Jiming Hill Xunzhou solar plant and the 3-MW Yancheng Guoneng rooftop installation.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Steve Rhoades, Satcon’s President and CEO said the projects are the first of what he expects will be many with GCL Solar (www.gcl-eng.com).
GCL Solar Limited specializes in consulting, design, system integration and total project contracting services for solar systems.
The Xunzhou solar plant is located on four hundred thousand square meters (99 acres) of hillside in the Xuzhou City Jiangsu Province. The 20MW installation was completed in three and a half months, making it the fastest successfully completed build cycle for a project of this size, Satcon said in a release.
The 3MW Yancheng Guoneng rooftop installation resides on 46 million square meters of factory rooftop, making it the largest rooftop project in China. The entire project was said to be completed, from design to activation, in seventy-five days.
"China is quickly becoming the world’s leading adopter of utility scale solar power production," Rhodes said.
