SOLON SE (SOO1.DE) announced it’s been selected to build and operate a 11 MW solar plant in southern Spain, for Renewable Energies and Photovoltaics Spain, a subsidiary of Statkraft AS, based in Norway.
The turnkey plant will incorporate SOLON Single Axis tracking PV systems.
SOLON and Statkraft have an agreement to build 40 MW of solar plants in Spain by the end of 2011.
Statkraft is the largest renewable energy firm in Europe. It develops projects across the energy spectrum: hydro, wind, solar, district heating, marine energy and osmotic power.
For 2008, Statkraft generated revenue of EUR 3.1 billion, with 3,200 employees in 20 countries.
