Organics Recyclers & Climate Change Legislation
The US Composting Council wants organics recyclers to be eligible recipients of carbon offsets in the cap-and-trade program, part of climate bill moving through Congress.
They want composting and municipal aerobic digestion operations to be eligible offset project types because of their ability to reduce landfill methane emissions, while returning carbon to the soil.
