Norwegian solar group Renewable Energy Corporation (REC.OL) halted operations at its new Moses Lake polysilicon plant just days after opening.
The company’s Silicon III plant in Washington State had run continuously for 10 days prior to the decision to stop due to "instability in certain operating parameters."
The company said in a release that "the total length of the shutdown cannot be determined until real data simulations have been undertaken and analyzed, and corrective actions have been identified."
REC said it will give an update during the presentation of 1Q09 financials on April 29, 2009.
