Rainbow Solar Unveils Photovoltaic Window

Rainbow Solar Inc. (RSi) has unveiled what it said is the world’s first, photovoltaic-glass window, capable of generating 80 to 250 watts of electricity.

The enclosed, super-tempered glass window system contains fully integrated photovoltaic technology and can be produced up to 9′ x 9′ with options to meet design, weather, climate, and building code requirements, the company said.

RSi also embedded other technologies, including an optional built-in electrical privacy curtain, to completely block out an already shaded glass window, and a new technology that converts the entire window into a light panel.

RSi said it is working with architects and developers to incorporate the PV-Glass Window into signature projects in Hollywood and Las Vegas. RSi is also looking to localize production by licensing glass window manufactures in the US and Canada.

RSi also plans to introduce a modular power-storage system, using a battery technology that the company said has a projected lifespan of 55 years, based on U.S. Energy Sandia Lab test results.

I am interested in your PV windows. Do you have a distributor for your product in Canada? If not what about the US east coast?
