A new envrionmentally-focused investment group, called Earth Capital Partners announced plans to raise $5 billion over the next five years for climate change and energy security-related projects, according to a Reuters report.
The London-based group plans to create a series of venture capital funds to allow financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds and corporations to invest in areas such as agriculture and forestry, new technologies, carbon trading, infrastructure and energy arbitrage.
Earth Capital Partners also said it will give to investors what it is calling ‘Earth Dividends’ that will track whether or not an investment is having a positive environmental impact.
