SunEdison, North America’s largest solar energy services provider, has entered into a 5-year, 800 megawatts (MW) development agreement in North America with Q-Cells International USA Corporation, a subsidiary of German solar company Q-Cells AG (QCE.DE).
Under the development agreement, Q-Cells will dedicate solar modules to meet total capacity of up to 800 MW. In addition, the companies will jointly develop and operate PV solar power systems in North America.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"This development agreement uniquely positions SunEdison to bring solar to a meaningful scale for the industry and our customers," noted Carlos Domenech, Chief Operating Officer for SunEdison.
Q-Cells is the largest manufacturer of solar cells worldwide.
