New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the city will spend $2.3 billion to cut greenhouse gas emissions 30% by 2017, according to a Reuters report.
Very few details were given, but the Mayor suggested the money will focus on reducing emissions from municipal buildings and operations–one of the initiatives of his PlaNYC, which aims to manage the city’s growth in an environmentally conscious fashion over the next few decades.
